In case you hadn’t already heard… the entire roundabout at the intersection of State Route 161 and Riverside Drive will be completely closed this weekend, from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19 until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22. Traffic entering the area will be detoured around the closure, so if you’re driving around this weekend, you’ll be better off simply avoiding the intersection entirely.
The roundabout is getting major lane changes (including pavement paint) and sign changes to improve traffic flow through the roundabout. The changes will primarily affect traffic heading into the roundabout from Riverside Drive northbound:
- Left lane — left turn (161 westbound) or straight through (Riverside Drive northbound)
- Center lane – straight through (Riverside Drive northbound) only
- Right lane — right turn (161 eastbound) only
